Make a Data Subject Request
Exercise your rights under UK GDPR Articles 15–22, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
1. If you have an active GoPresent account
Two of the most common requests can be self-served from your account settings:
- Export your data:sign in, then visit your portal settings → “Export my data”. We’ll prepare a downloadable archive of your account, projects, decks, transcripts, and conversations.
- Request account deletion:sign in, then visit your portal settings → “Request account deletion”. Deletion takes effect after a 14-day cooling-off period during which you can cancel the request.
For all other rights (rectification of specific fields, restriction of processing, objection to specific processing, portability of a subset of your data, or any matter requiring human review), use the contact details in §3 below.
2. If you do not have a GoPresent account
You may still have rights in respect of personal data we hold:
- Past customer: we keep limited account, billing, and audit records for up to 6 years after closure (HMRC retention requirement). You can request what we still hold and why.
- Prospect / waitlist: if you registered interest but never created an account, we hold limited contact data. You can request access or deletion at any time.
- Subject within a customer’s Submitted Materials: if your personal data appears inside a deck or document a GoPresent customer uploaded (e.g. you’re named as a consultant, advisor, customer, or candidate), we are a Data Processor on the customer’s behalf and will pass your request through to the relevant Data Controller within 5 business days. We’ll keep you informed.
- Subject within a Scout Portal deal-brief upload: scouts upload third-party founders’ pitch decks for analysis. If your deck has been uploaded by a scout, we will engage the scout (the Data Controller) and may, at our discretion and at your request, suspend processing pending resolution.
3. How to make a request
Send an email to dsr@gopresent.ai containing:
- Which right you wish to exercise— access / rectification / erasure / restriction / portability / objection / automated-decision (UK GDPR Articles 15–22).
- The personal data the request concerns— for example, your email address, account ID, or company name. The more specific the better.
- Proof of identity— we’ll typically ask for a one-time confirmation from a verified channel (e.g. a reply from the email address tied to the account, or a government-issued ID for non-account holders) before disclosing personal data.
Or write to us at GoPresent Ltd, Data Protection Office, Bartle House, 9 Oxford Court, Manchester, England, M2 3WQ.
4. Our commitment to you
- Acknowledgement within one UK business day of receiving your request, with a unique ticket reference.
- Substantive response within one calendar month per UK GDPR Article 12(3). We will let you know as soon as possible if the request is complex enough to require the additional two-month extension that Article 12(3) permits.
- No fee for reasonable requests. We reserve the right under Article 12(5) to charge a reasonable fee, or refuse, requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive (e.g. repetitive requests within a short period).
5. Right to complain to the ICO
If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office:
- Web: ico.org.uk
- Phone: 0303 123 1113
- Address: Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF
We’d appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly first — please email privacy@gopresent.ai if you’d like to escalate before involving the ICO.
